About Dr. Harel

Dr. Harel Papikian

Coming from a multi-ethnic family and growing up in turbulent places all over the globe, I developed a profound interest in the human psyche and the desire to understand what makes us tick. Throughout my undergraduate studies in Israel, and later, during my graduate work in the USA, I explored the field of psychology in search of therapy approaches that work well and work fast. I became familiar with psycho-dynamic thinking and philosophy, a humanistic approach to therapy, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy. I found these to be very valuable in understanding the complexity of human experience, however, neither one of these approaches offered effective, versatile, and comprehensive tools to assist clients in creating rapid and profound change.

This left me wondering whether there is something else – a mind technology that would work well in the age of high-speed lifestyle; something that would allow for rapid, profound, and lasting transformation. In my quest, I came across NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). I became fascinated with the richness of NLP.  NLP is rooted in a monumental work of many profoundly gifted and renowned psychotherapists.

My experience working with the most challenging populations and human conditions proved the tremendous effectiveness of NLP in releasing past unresolved negative emotions, changing limiting beliefs, and healing trauma.  NLP is also a powerful tool to help clients build a prosperous present and future through acquiring new skills, strategies, and tools. In NLP I found something that was effective, fast, and sustainable. In other words, principles and technology based on NLP delivered results, rather than just “talked about it.”

My passion has always been working with couples of all backgrounds and configurations, including same-sex couples. After moving to Los Angeles and living in the beautiful and vibrant West Hollywood, I founded the West Hollywood Couples Clinic. My mission is to bring the knowledge of NLP and the richness of my clinical experience to our Los Angeles and California communities, as well as to apply it to the unique needs of gay men and LGBTQI+ couples. Watching my clients grow and prosper fulfills my mission and purpose. We grow together.
